Flip is a certified Master Food Preserver and has Food Safety Managers training along with Better Process Control School.

Flip's role in the AG & Food Systems Department

  • Advising planning and early stages entrepreneurs making food products in NYS.
  • Managing the shared-use incubator space on site, the Harvest Kitchen at the Extension Learning Farm.
  • Teaching cooking and preservation classes that celebrate local food.

In her role as Local Food Program Leader, Flip is dedicated to serving people all along the food chain: from farmers looking to create value-added products, to schools seeking local options for their menus, to consumers eager to access foods produced in the region and gain the confidence to use them in their kitchens. She offers interactive workshops and 1-1 consultations with beginning stages food entrepreneurs to aid them in establishing a strong foundation for their new business with topics including labeling requirements, record keeping, sourcing, and food safety. Flip celebrates seasonal eating on her home farm she co-operates littleGrasse Foodworks.
