Integrated Parasite Management and FAMACHA

  • Saturday, October 4, 2025, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Managing parasites on a small ruminant farm can be a real challenge. There are many things that affect the parasite load at your farm like the weather, pasturing style, animal source, age of the animals and more. Join us to learn about the different types of parasites that are a challenge for sheep and goat operations. Learn about the different types of de-wormers and when and how to use them. Most importantly, learn how to manage your flock and herd so you only de-worm those animals that really need it.

Join Carmen Hostetter (CCE Livestock Educator) and Besty Hodge for a parasite presentation in the morning, break for lunch (please bring your own lunch), and hands-on FAMACHA scoring and fecal egg counts in the barn in the afternoon. You must complete the entire day to receive your FAMACHA card.

The cost of the class is $25.00 which covers the cost of your FAMACHA card and materials. Please pay online or in the office prior to the workshop.
