This position will serve as a 4-H Ag Awareness Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of St. Lawrence County and will provide comprehensive 4-H Agricultural Youth Development opportunities for youth groups at the Extension Learning Farm; including, but not limited to school visits (K-12 grades) and the North Wind Afterschool and Farm Day Camp Programs (K-6th grades). The position will serve as Program Director for the North Wind Afterschool and Farm Day Camp Programs and be responsible for supervision of staff and volunteers in the absence of the Director. This position will use established 4-H curriculum and activities in the areas of agriculture and animal science; environmental science and natural resources; science, technology engineering, and math (STEM); healthy life styles and food systems; as well as a variety of other 4-H related topics. This position will work closely with the 4-H Youth and Family Team Leader, North Wind Afterschool and Farm Day Camp Director, and Association program staff to deliver a highly effective 4-H Agriculture Awareness Program which addresses the needs of local youth while employing the most current educational resources available.

This position will serve as an After-School Program Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of St. Lawrence County in support of the Empire State After-School Program and will provide comprehensive 4-H youth development opportunities for youth in grades K-12 in the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School District. This position will provide established guidance and direction for program participants and after-school activities, including club and life skills, as well as assisting the collaborating teachers during the academic study portion of the program. This position will provide instruction utilizing established 4-H curriculum in the areas of environmental science and natural resources, science, technology engineering, art and math (STEAM).This position will utilize existing program resources and materials in program work, assist in the creation of program lesson plans, utilize a variety of delivery methods and assist in delivering established innovative educational programs as assigned. This position will also provide staffing and/or programming coverage, as needed, for other Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of St. Lawrence County After-School Programs.
Specify required minimum equivalency for education, experience, skills, information systems knowledge, etc.
Hours: Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Position runs through the 2019-20 School year, a 10-month position
