Eat Easy

Get simple tips for living better

Eat Easy is a free resource for adults who are looking for ways to eat better, stretch SNAP benefits and budgets further, and meet their own goals for feeling their best. It's designed to help New York State residents who are eligible for SNAP benefits access positive, reliable information about nutrition, meal planning, managing resources and more.

Eat Easy How-to's and resources

The main Eat Easy content is a series of How-Tos that allow users to visit any section in any order. You'll see How-Tos about how to plan and eat well-balanced meals, how to get the most from each food group, how to store and use different foods, and more.

Each How-To includes:

  • A quick Mindful Moment to help de-stress before diving in
  • Short steps that can include questions, quizzes, games, articles, infographics and videos to keep things interesting
  • An opportunity to set a goal for the week
  • A digital certificate of completion when all the steps in a How-To are complete

In addition, a Table Talk section provides nutritionists' answers to many real-world nutrition and lifestyle questions.

Finally, a Resources page points to more information about SNAP benefits.
