Kristy Coyle became a SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator in November 2022, after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Community Health from SUNY Potsdam in May 2022. While serving in this role, Kristy has been continuing her education by working on her Master of Public Health, which she will graduate with in May of 2025.
While Kristy still has a portion of her time dedicated to SNAP-Ed, her role has changed to providing nutrition education through both Federal and State Farm to Grants, as well as general nutrition programming through Public Health grants. Through this work, she is working on building connections between students and local agriculture, by teaching youth about the local produce they can eat at their schools. She is also working to organize the reinstated North Country Jr. Iron Chef competition for eligible schools.
Kristy has developed a strong passion for helping members of her community to access health information and care by eliminating barriers and disparities they face in the unique environment she serves. Her drive to help others is shown through her work with CCE and her other engagements in her community.
In her free time, Kristy is often reading, cooking, playing pickleball, or crafting. She also enjoys spending time with loved ones and relaxing with her two German Shepherds, Nova and Winnie!
