Kristy Coyle became our Community Nutrition Education and Afterschool Program Leader in January 2026. Before entering this role, she served in different areas of nutrition education with Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Kristy started with Cornell Cooperative Extension when she became a SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator in November 2022. Her role in nutrition education at CCE evolved as she took on new roles through both Federal and State Farm to Grants, as well as general nutrition programming through Public Health grants. Through this work, she worked on building connections between students and local agriculture, by teaching youth about the local produce they can eat at their schools. She also worked to organize the reinstated North Country Jr. Iron Chef competition for eligible schools. Additionally, she was able to offer more tailored nutrition and physical activity lessons, including Lunch 'N Learns and Bingocize.

Kristy received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health from SUNY Potsdam in May 2022. While serving as a Nutrition Educator for CCE, Kristy continued her education by working on her Master of Public Health, which she graduated with in May of 2025.

Kristy has a strong passion for helping members of her community to access health information and care by eliminating barriers and disparities they face in the unique environment she serves. Her drive to help others is shown through her work with CCE and her other engagements in her community.

In her free time, Kristy is often reading, cooking, playing pickleball, or crafting. She also enjoys spending time with loved ones and relaxing with her Great Dane puppy, Binks, and her two German Shepherds, Nova and Winnie!
