Pressure Canning Meat (option to piece)

Workshop includes:

  • Opportunity to take part in canning process start to finish, using chicken raised at the Extension Learning Farm
  • Background information on why and how pressure canning works
  • Examples of four different models of pressure canners
  • Handouts and recipes
  • Ample time for questions
  • Optional 11am-12:30pm, join us sooner to piece the birds for the afternoon canning workshop. A good option for people who already or would like to raise birds and want hands-on experience in cutting them up and learning the parts

This session is taught by Master Food Preservers volunteers and the Harvest Kitchen manger.

Workshop is part of Extension's Homesteading for Everyone Series. Session is held in person at the Harvest Kitchen at the Extension Learning Farm.
