Get ready for the growing season in this hands-on workshop where participants will practice using the water bath canning method to preserve food. Whether you are a brand new to water bath canning or simply want to brush up on your skills, all are welcome.
During the registration step (see below), participants will choose between making pickled carrots or a corn and cherry tomato salsa. On class day, folks will work in a small group to make their creations. Every participant will get to bring home a jar of what we make as well as the recipe and other preservation resources. There will also be a conversation with background information about food safety with lots of time for questions.
This workshop is taught by Harvest Kitchen Manager Flip Filippi, along with Master Food Preserver volunteers.
