Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County is excited to welcome new trainees for our Master Food Preserver Volunteer Program. Applicants are not required to be "experts," in food preservation before the training, but some experience and a willingness to learn and share with others is required. The rewards for volunteers are many; you can feel good about teaching others, and learn a lot about food preservation in the process. The 3-day intensive training is largely hands-on, interspersed with lectures from food preserver specialists. Class size is limited to 15.
How to learn more and apply
NOTE: If you are interested in improving your food preservation skills but are not interested in volunteering, we recommend our standalone workshops rather than this intensive training. For example, we have a Fun with Fermentation workshop on March 11 and a Water Bath Canning workshop on April 25, 2025.
