Calling all 4-H’ers! Don’t miss this exciting 3-week series designed to help you master the art of raising rabbits and poultry. Whether you’re new to animal care or looking to take your 4-H project to the next level, this series is perfect for you! Youth will rotate through stations to learn about poultry and rabbits each night.
What to Expect:
April 1st: Guest Speaker, Janet Collier, NYS Veterinary Technician will cover biosecurity, disease prevention and treatment and basic husbandry.
April 8th: Poultry will cover setting up breeding pens, embryology and chick development, poultry nutrition and more. Rabbits will cover requirements for nesting boxes, kitten (baby rabbit) development and nutrition.
April 15th: Poultry will cover evaluation of live chickens, egg evaluation and poultry anatomy. Rabbits will cover rabbit structure, breeding characteristics, anatomy and more.
Participants must be at least 8 years of age by January 1, 2025.
