Preserving Garlic

  • Thursday, August 24, 2023, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Workshop Description:

The flavor and benefits of garlic can be enjoyed year-round, because this plant can last for months in its whole form or be turned into other treats such as garlic powder or a flavorful paste. Extension educators and Master Food Preserver volunteers will walk participants though several methods that will make your taste buds rejoice. This class covers fermentation as well as dehydration. Master Food Preserver volunteers receive intensive training from Extension on various preservation methods and then share this information with the community through workshops and 1-1 support. Class size is limited, register below to reserve your spot.

This workshop is part of the Grow and Preserve series which consists of paired workshops on cultivating food plants and then preserving the harvest from May through October 2023. The Grow and Preserve workshop series is dedicated to sharing timely information in a hands-on, accessible format, including support materials for participants to use at home.
