Preserving Strawberries

  • Friday, June 16, 2023, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Capture the summer flavor of strawberries for year-round enjoyment with different preservation methods including making jam (canning), freezing, and a refreshing fermented drink called shrub. In the Harvest Kitchen, Extension educators and Master Food Preserver volunteers will instruct the class participants on proper food safety, give delicious recipes, and answer any questions during both demonstrations and hands-on activities to make these products. Master Food Preserver volunteers receive intensive training from Extension on various preservation methods and then share this information with the community through workshops and 1-1 support. Class size is limited, register below to reserve your spot.

This workshop is part of the Grow and Preserve series which consists of paired workshops on cultivating food plants and then preserving the harvest from May through October 2023. The Grow and Preserve workshop series is dedicated to sharing timely information in a hands-on, accessible format, including support materials for participants to use at home.
