Fruition Local Food Showcase: August Edition

  • Wednesday, August 18, 2021, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join us Wednesday, August 18th, 7-8pm. The August edition features The Potsdam Food Co-op in Potsdam, the grass based beef company Northern Limits Farm and a new flower and vegetable producer Our Little Grewve from Hermon.

Tune into the livestream produced by Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County called the Fruition Local Food Showcase. The aim of this storytelling venture is to expose and excite consumers to the businesses that produce, prepare or sell food items available in St. Lawrence County, such as farmers, chefs, food entrepreneurs and retailers.

The showcase will be livestreamed on Facebook via the Cornell Cooperative Extension page @CCEofSLC as well as on YouTube at CCE of SLC.

Participants who join us live will have the chance to win a $20 goft certificate and Co-op T-Shirt, a basket of produce and a fresh bouquet from Our Little Grewve and a gift certificate for frozen beef from Northern Limits Farm.

Livestreams are on the third Wednesday of each month and includes interviews with the featured producers, photos of their businesses along with prizes and seasonal recipes. The Fruition Showcase is free for the guest participants as well as the community members’ eager to learn more about the food system of this region.

The guests will be featured sequentially in the program as a series of interviews that are 15 minutes apiece. During the interview, community members can tune in to learn what’s unique about each business, new plans afoot this season and useful tips about how to use their products and more.
