Preserving Tomatoes

Capture summer in a jar! Learn how to safely can tomatoes using both pressure and water bath canning. This hands-on workshop will give you the confidence to tackle any canning project at home. 

Pre-registration is required and class fee includes samples, a finished jar to bring home and recipes. 

Ingredients generously donated by Kent Family Growers and Nature’s Storehouse.

This course is part of the Harvest Kitchen Preservation Series, which focuses on seasonal recipes, produced in a flavorful and safe way. The workshops features a variety of preservation methods including water bath and pressure canning, freezing, drying and fermenting- along with tips for how to use these preserved goods. The produce is sourced from local farms with other ingredients generously donated by Nature's Storehouse. The courses are taught by Extension educators and/or Master Food Preserver volunteers and are held in the Harvest Kitchen at the Extension Learning Farm in Canton.
