This is the
kickoff event in a series of hands-on preservation classes in the
Harvest Kitchen. Strawberry season brings delicious treats, join us to
learn several preservation methods-including jam, fruit leather and mini hand pies- with berries donated from Martin's
Farmstand in Potsdam.
The Harvest Kitchen Preservation Series
focuses on seasonal recipes, produced in a flavorful and safe way. The
workshops features a variety of preservation methods including water
bath and pressure canning, freezing, drying and fermenting- along with
tips for how to use these preserved goods. The produce is sourced from
local farms with other ingredients generously donated by Nature's
Storehouse in Canton. The courses are taught by Extension educators
and/or Master Food Preserver volunteers and are held in the Harvest
Kitchen.
