Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop

  • Saturday, April 8, 2017, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Learn how to produce your own fruit trees inexpensively, or preserve the lineage of an old apple tree growing on your property. Join Cornell Master Gardener Volunteer Don O’Shea, a long-time tree grafter with over 25 years of experience.

Participants will learn about tree biology as well as the tools, techniques and materials needed to successfully graft trees. The class includes bench grafting demonstrations in the classroom, and a top-working demonstration on established trees outdoors. Everybody will go home with a newly-grafted tree!

The workshop fee is $15.00, which includes light refreshments, a cold-hardy apple rootstock, and scion wood. Pre-registration is required. Class is limited to 12 participants, so early registration is encouraged. For more information, or to register, call (315) 379-9192.
