Discover inspiration to tackle home projects this season whether it be in the garden, in the kitchen or conserving energy. Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County will be at the Badenhausen Public Library in Brasher Falls on Tuesday June 2nd, 1:00-3:00pm. Stop by to chat with one of the four folks on hand including the Local Food Program Leader, Master Food Preserver volunteer, Energy Advisor, or a Master Gardener volunteer.
This event is free and open to the public.
There will be displays of water bath, pressure canning, and fermentation equipment. Free canning jars will be available to the first 10 attendees, plus informational handouts, recipes, greeting cards featuring local farms, and pollinator plant information, and more across all subjects.
The North Country is bursting with seasonal foods, and whether you want to grow it, source it, or preserve it, we'll be ready to talk about your options.
If you have a pressure canner with a dial gauge, you are welcome to bring it to this event. Extension will have their master gauge tester on hand to check your dials for accuracy.
Tired of high energy costs? Energy and money savings tips as well as information about no- and low-cost energy efficiency programs and incentives will be shared by our North Country Clean Energy Hub and CCE St. Lawrence County Energy Advisor, Louise Jensen. Come by and get answers and some help with those utility bills.
