Join us at the Extension Learning Farm in Canton for a two-part workshop for vegetable growers focusing on garlic and brassica crops with additional general vegetable round table. Our morning session will be led by Crystal Stewart-Courtens of the Eastern NY Commercial Horticulture Program (ENYCHP). This portion include tips for growing great garlic from seed to post-harvest, advice for managing the invasive leek moth, and discussion with a panel of experienced garlic growers. The Brassica (cole) crop portion in the afternoon will be led by Elisabeth Hodgdon of ENYCHP. The afternoon will include pest and disease management, crop rotation, varieties, and planting dates. Organic and conventional management will be covered for both topics. Includes lunch for both half and full day registration.
2 DEC pesticide recertification credits available in categories 1A, 10, and 23. Must attend the whole day to receive credits.
If you are a veteran or active military, the full registration fee can be covered by NNY Veterans in Agriculture, a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County. Please mark on the registration if you are a veteran who would like to use this subsidy to cover the class registration fee.
