Water Bath Canning Online Workshop

You can build confidence and inspiration to preserve the harvest by joining the live online webinar from home. The Harvest Kitchen has a video set-up that includes two cameras and microphones, so workshop participants will enjoy multiple angles to get a feel for the entire process.

The session includes:

  • Instructors making tomato salsa with local ingredients
    • Blanching and peeling tomatoes
    • Handling hot peppers
  • Water Bath Canning including readying canner/jars, filling jars, loading canner, and processing
  • Why and how water bath canning works 
  • What foods that can be safely preserved using water bath canning method

The instructors for this session are multiple Master Food Preserver Volunteers along with Flip Filippi, co-owner of the community farm littleGrasse Foodworks and Extension’s Local Food Program Leader.

The workshop is available on a sliding scale, $0-40 so that participants pay what they can afford. The class will be filmed live and all questions are welcome. Pre-registration is required. Once registered, all participants will be sent the hyperlink to join online. All registrants will receive the class recording along with recipes and resources to encourage future kitchen adventures.
