  • Saturday, September 9, 2023, 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Description:

Tours at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm.

You can visit our pigs which includes pigs at various stages of growth, see our chickens and learn how we keep them healthy and their eggs clean, and also visit our beef cattle and likely get 'licked by a cow' if you’d like. Pat will give an overview of our operation, explaining what we raise, how our animals are fed, and why. He'll also explain how we grow our feed. We are more than happy to answer any questions.

Parking: Park in the driveway in front of our house, or across the road near the barn.

Amenities: Shade or cover

Kid Friendly: Yes

Farm Bio: We breed pigs, raise the piglets and sell the meat either as whole/half animals, or as individual pounds of vacuum sealed meat ready for your freezer. We also raise beef, buying them as feeders and raising them for about a year. The foundation of their diet is grass, supplemented with a small amount of non-GMO corn when necessary, that we grow (without any sprays) and grind ourselves. We also raise chickens. Our egg layers are outdoors on pasture and enjoy eating grass and bugs, making eggs with vibrant, tasty yolks.

Social media: Website

Products for Sale: Yes, Cash, Check, Credit/Debit Card, SNAP/EBT, Fresh Connect Checks

Special instructions: Wear footwear good for walking. Our farmyard includes some uneven surfaces.

This event is part of Local Foods Weekend, a 3-day celebration of the people that grow, raise, sell or prepare food in and nearby St. Lawrence County. Visit one or more of the 30+ public events hosted by the participating producers and businesses. Explore our foodshed and discover the diversity of products created in the North Country by our hard working farmers, retailers, restaurants and more.
