Growing Hot Peppers, Tomatoes, & Tomatillos

  • Thursday, September 7, 2023, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Workshop Description:

Hot peppers, tomatoes, and tomatillos are heat loving members of the nightshade family which means they can be tricky to grow in the North Country because of our shorter, cooler growing season. During this session in the High Tunnel at the Extension Learning Farm, Master Gardener volunteer Brad Pendergraft will share planting, variety, and cultivation tips to help participants successfully grow these plants. Master Gardener volunteers receive intensive training from Extension on growing many different plants and then share this information with the community through workshops and 1-1 support. Class size is limited, register below to reserve your spot.

This workshop is part of the Grow and Preserve series which consists of paired workshops on cultivating food plants and then preserving the harvest from May through October 2023. The Grow and Preserve workshop series is dedicated to sharing timely information in a hands-on, accessible format, including support materials for participants to use at home.
