Crafting Artful Salads

  • Tuesday, May 23, 2023, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Workshop Description:

Discover the makings of an outstanding salad and learn how to transform simple lettuces and greens into satisfying meals. In this class we will break down the important components of salad making and work with seasonal ingredients to create exciting flavors, diverse textures, and beautiful colors. Topics include knife skills, making dressings and vinaigrettes, and creating various toppings such as seasoned croutons, sprouted seeds, crispy shallots, and pickled radishes. Each attendee will build a salad with ingredients provided.

Previous Harvest Kitchen participants describe their food class experiences as “very fun, educational, and delicious” and “great flow of the class with perfect combo of demos and participation!”

This workshop is part of the Celebrating Spring Foods series which consists of 3 cooking classes from May through June 2023. The Celebrating Spring Foods workshop series is dedicated to sharing timely information in a hands-on, accessible format, including support materials for participants to use at home.

Participants can register for as many workshops as they like in the series, each of which requires a separate registration. Class size is capped at 12 to allow for hands-on opportunities. Payment must be received before the start of each workshop.
