Do you want to become a beekeeper, but don't know where to begin? Extension has partnered with members of the Local Living Venture's Bee Discussion Group to create a community-led workshop that shares the basics to get started.
Topics to be covered include beekeeping resources, terminology, equipment and gear, biology, pests, diseases and how to start a hive this Spring.
Class size is limited; attendees will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees are asked to bring a bag lunch if staying for the afternoon session.
EVENT SCHEDULE
10 am - Registration/coffee and mingle
10:15 am - 12 pm - Basics of Beekeeping Presentations
12-1 pm - Lunch (Please bring a bag lunch with you)
1-3 pm - Advanced Beekeeping Presentations (Optional)
**There will be ample time for Q & A
$10-40 sliding scale fee
