As of Spring 2017, St. Lawrence County has a Master Food Preserver volunteer group.
See our events calendar for a 6-class series in our kitchen this fall that includes water bath canning, pressure canning, fermentation and freezing. All workshops contain information about the scientific basis of food preservation as well as hands-on opportunities to learn each method. Volunteers are also open to getting out into the community and teaching classes off-site. Get us in touch if you are interested in hosting us for a class at your site (school, library, church, non-profit, etc.)
The Canton Community Fund generously supported the establishment of this program by underwriting the 3-day Master Food Preserver Training.
