Our vendors will show you how.

There will be exhibits, vendors, hands-on demos, electric vehicles. 

Learn what you can do:

  • Growing concentrations of greenhouse gases in  the atmosphere are chanig the climate.  We are already seeing the changes and they will become more severe, causing damage to health, homes, farms and infrastructure
  • You and everybody can benefit:  you will save money, create jobs and help build our local economy by switching away from fossil fuels and embracing a local food economy.
  • At the Fair, you will receive a map and checklist of actions with links to vendors, exhibitors and displays showing you how you can save energy, waste less, access renewable energy and local food.
  • The Green Living Fair is a project of the Canton and Potsdam Climate Smart Communities.  Municipal governments in both communities have passed resolutions supporting the Fair and encouraging residents to participate.
  • Cornell Cooperative Extension, SUNY Canton, Clarkson University, Local Living Venture, NorthCountry350.org, Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton, and the US Green Building Council of Upstate NY have officially partnered with Canton and Potsdam to organize the Green Living Fair. 
  • The Green Living Fair will showcase what Canton and Potsdam Municipal Governments, educational institutions and local businesses are doing to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change. 
  • The Green Living Fair is providing educational opportunities at all levels. Students from school and universities are preparing posters and displays for the Fair.

  • 1.Garden Share Inc.

GardenShare's mission is to solve the problem of hunger in St. Lawrence County through policy advocacy work and by strengthening the food system to benefit all county residents. Our programs include St. Lawrence Co.   • 5.Northern Forest Center

Automated Wood Heat is a modern, efficient technology that can replace an oil or propane boiler in your home, business, or municipal building.With a wood pellet boiler in place, you can opt out of oil and take advantage of comfortable, convenient whole-house heating utilizing local, renewable wood pellets.Leslie Karasin from the Northern Forest Center will be on hand to showcase the Automated Wood Heat opportunity and answer consumers’ questions.

The CSC will show what the Town and Village of Canton are doing to reduce municipal greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.
