For more than 20 years, Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County and the SUNY Canton Veterinary Technician Program have provided local youth to gain hands-on experience in animal science.
Past classes have covered rabies, radiology, emergency and basic care, surgery and many other areas. These hands-on classes are taught by vet tech students with assistance from their professors. The class fills every year with more than half of students typically reporting they are more likely to pursue a career in animal science because of the program.
This class is designed for students between the ages of 13-18.
Cost to register is $25.
Please contact Maureen Ring at Cornell Cooperative Extension for more information or to register.
