Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County presents the
4-H All Paws After School Enrichment Program
At the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School
The 4-H All Paws After School Enrichment Program is for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade! Students in the program will get the opportunity to participate in a variety of engaging programs. Activities will vary from one-time craft/ cooking and STEAM activities to long term clubs. There will be three different groups 4-H All Paws Clover Buds for students in Kindergarten through 4th grades, 4-H All Paws Explorers for students in 5th through 7th grades, and 4-H All Paws Teen Council for students in 8th through 12th grades.
4-H All Paws Clover Buds
We understand that students in Kindergarten through 4th grade may not always have homework, so there will be reading times and times for the students to play games with each other. Students that have homework will have the ability to work in a quiet space with an educator that can help them as needed.
Some of the most important lessons youth can learn at this age is how to respect others, their selves, and the environment around them. Through group and individual activities, students will gain the confidence to work with others, stand up for themselves, and know when to get help from their peers or a trusted adult.
4-H All Paws Explorers
Students in 5th to 7th grade start getting more complex homework; there are more times that they will need help with their homework. With the help of different educators and PH teachers, the student will get the help they need to succeed, and complete their homework.
Students in the Explorers Program will work on larger and longer activities through clubs. Students will learn about different careers with volunteer gusts in career fields from banking, emergency services, agricultural, and many other occupational fields. Students that have a passion or interest in specific areas will get to gain a leadership role by helping run the activities and clubs.
4-H All Paws Teen Council
Homework is now getting to a point where students may need a lot of help from the After School Educators and PH Teachers. Students will be able to go to a quiet place to focus on their work with staff to help them as needed.
The 4-H All Paws Teen Council get to help drive the program. Students will have the opportunity to help some of the younger groups by becoming junior leaders. They will gain leadership responsibilities by supporting the educators of the younger groups. Students will be able to join clubs and learn about different career fields, such as journalism, emergency services, banking, agriculture, and many others.
